The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon Dr Chris Baryomunsi is attending The World Internet Conference in China in an effort to bring internet costs down as Uganda learns and shares her own insight with other countries across the globe.
The Government of Uganda through the Digital Acceleration project has been able to cover over 75 districts with Fibre Internet (NBI) and is in the 5th phase of project implementation.
The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit is taking place in East China’s Zhejiang Province from today 6th to 9th November 2025, with a focus on building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
According to the organizers, to mark the 10th anniversary of the concept of this community, the event include a symposium on the topic.
Additionally, during the conference, the leaders of cutting-edge technology enterprises will hold dialogues centered on frontier AI development and key technological innovation highlights.
The summit will also feature 24 parallel forums, covering topics such as the Global Development Initiative, the digital economy and data governance.
