NEWS- As 2026 general elections draw more closer, many candidates continue to bid for different seats in the country’s political arena.
Among the many is an energetic businessman Andrew Kikira Ankunda who is vying for the Rukungiri municipality Member of Parliament seat come 2026.
The National Resistance Movement leaning Andrew Kikira declared his intention to run for Rukungiri Municipality seat on 9th February 2025 during a press conference held at his home in Bunura Cell, Rwakabengo Ward, Southern Division, in Rukungiri Municipality.
While addressing journalists, Kikira unearthed his dedication to service delivery with priorities given to health, education, roads, agriculture and the business community not forgetting skilling the youth to curb unemployment challenges.
He also reiterated his ambition to improve local farming through cooperatives, value addition on different local materials, empowering women and other groups of people not forgetting extending electricity to the ordinary people.
He promised servant leadership to the people of Rukungiri Municipality and also lobby for them so as development in area and at the individual level is guaranteed to everyone.
Andrew Kikira Ankunda called for support from the people of Rukungiri Municipality regardless of their religions, political feelings stressing that he is the right candidate to stir development in the area.
Andrew Kikira Ankunda brings a wealth of experience ranging from leadership, entrepreneurship, business among many others.
