Buhweju – Christians in Buhweju County in Buhweju District have been told to be Patriotic so as to drive change in their communities. The clarion call was made by the independent parliamentally candidate for Buhweju County, Hon. Grace Agaba Byarugaba, while at Butare Catholic Church/Parish in Kasheny-Kajaani Town Council, during Christmas day celebrations.
The prayer summons were led by father Vincent Kaboyi, who encouraged people of Buhweju to work hard and engage in productive ventures to fight poverty. He also urged them to have keen interest in the affairs of developing their land and join the Butare Parish Sacco to be able to develop as Christian’s of Butare Parish.
Speaking to the congregation, Mrs. Byarugaba applauded Rev. Father Vincent Kaboyi for his wonderful Christmas sermon. Grace Byarugaba also used the opportunity to urge the people of Uganda to be patriotic and love their country. She explained that it’s because of patriotism that she decided to stand as a candidate for Buhweju County MP, adding that her main focus is on how to uplift people’s livelihoods once elected as their Member of Parliament.
She also appreciated the political support the people of Buhweju have shown her as a strong support so far, stressing that wherever she has gone, the people of Buhweju have shown her real support.
After Christmas prayers, Hon. Grace Agaba Byarugaba proceeded to watch a football match at Kabale playgrounds in Ibogora Parish- Karungu Sub-County. The match was between Kasharara Parish and Ibogora Parish, where Ibogora beat Kasharara Parish 1-nil.
