Rubaramira ordaining new priest at Rushoroza Cathedral

The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira has today afternoon ordained eight deacons from the Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus into the priesthood during a solemn Mass held at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral in Kabale Municipality.

The colorful ceremony attracted hundreds of Christians from across Kabale Diocese and other parts of Uganda, who turned up to witness the sacred rite of ordination and celebrate the calling of the new servants of God.

The newly ordained priests include Rev. Fr Silas Majoro from Kinanira Parish, Rev Fr Birungi Deusdedit from Makiro Parish, Rev Fr Tarasisio Mucunguzi from Kyanamira Parish, Rev Fr Vincent Niwabeine from Maziba Parish, Rev Fr Benjamin Chakuwa from Mutolere Parish, Rev Fr Patrick Tumushabe from Buhara Parish, Rev Fr Nicholas Byaruhanga also from Buhara Parish, and Rev Fr Leopold Nkurunungi from Muko Parish.

While delivering his sermon, Bishop Rubaramira urged the newly ordained priests to let Christ lead their ministry and to remain true to their divine calling and emphasized the importance of preaching the Word of God boldly and living lives of holiness, prayer and self-sacrifice.

The Bishop encouraged the priests to emulate Jesus Christ’s humility and obedience, warning them against being controlled by worldly desires and reminded them that priesthood is not about power or privilege but about service to God’s people.

He urged them to remain steadfast in prayer, seek God’s guidance in all challenges, and remember to intercede for others and further assured them that, just as God accompanied Moses through every trial, He would also walk with them in their ministry.

The event was attended by the Minister of Finance in Charge of General Duties Hon Henry Musasizi, Members of Parliament and Aspiring Candidates and Kigezi Region Political Leaders among many others.
