The family of a 47 year old Archangel Mugyenyi, the parish chief of Bukoora parish in Kitumba Sub County Kabale district, is struggling to raise at least 60 million shillings for a kidney transplant.
Mugyenyi is a resident of Bigombe road Lower Bugongi Northern division Kabale municipality.
According to Dr Anne Marion Namutebi, a consultant physician at Kabale regional referral hospital, Mugyenyi was in November 2018 diagnosed with end stage kidney disease at Mulago hospital and has since been on a treatment with a number of medicines.
Dr Namutebi however said that it’s unfortunate that Mugyenyi has now become non responsive to medical therapy and requires urgent renal replacement therapies including hemodialysis and a kidney transplant.
She noted that the cost of the treatment is estimated at atleast 60 million shillings in Kenya.
Kyarimpa Jackline, a wife to Mugyenyi said that they have used up all the money they had on buying different medicines asking for the intervention of the government, the church, political leaders, NGO’s and all the general public to fundraise to save Mugyenyi’s life.
