Reports have it that music icon Jose Chameleone and his wife, Daniella Atim, have agreed to dissolve their 2 decade marriage.
The development follows months of court-sanctioned mediation after the mother of five dragged the superstar to court a year back seeking a divorce so as to end the turbulent marriage that was always characterised by infidelity and cruelty, all done by the Valu Valu singer.
The couple has been living apart for the past five years, since Atim left to settle in the US.
The mediation proceedings were being handled by Justice Jane Okuo Kajuga of the Anti-Corruption Court, and on the financial front, Chameleone hasn’t been budging as he opposed alimony by claiming Daniella is gainfully employed in the US, thereby demanding for joint custody by reserving his Seguku home for the children whenever they are in Uganda.
According to the yet to be signed divorce papers, Atim is to retain custody of their five children: Abba, Alpha, Amma, Alba, and Xara Mayanja, while Chameleone is allowed visitation rights.
It will also be mandatory that Chameleone raise $2000 (about Shs 7.55million) for Atim every month for child support.
The New Vision, however, reports that the properties acquired during their marriage are to be determined later by the Family Division of the High Court.
With Chameleone and Daniella ready to part ways, Uganda continues to watch as one of the nation’s most profile celebrity unions hits a dead end.
