Museveni arriving at Masaka State Lodge

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has tasked the newly elected NRM leaders from districts in greater Masaka to understand their role in monitoring and supervision of government programs ahead of their tenure.

Museveni notes that responsible leadership starts with clarity and purpose for individual leaders on the role and responsibilities upon which they base to guide their electorate on viable socialeconomic paths.

The President referred to the NRM’s formative stage as a student movement  in 1960s when him and colleagues identified Uganda’s major challenges at the time that included sectarian and divisive politics that landed the country into chaos and all the then involved actors ended up in misery due to their ideological bankruptcy.

Museveni maintains that all leaders must bear national interests and people centered political strategies if they are to survive in leadership.

President Museveni told NRM leaders in Masaka district and city to counter opposition lies and reject any forms of intimidation from opposition politicians by highlighting government programs and initiatives to the populace

The President affirmed that government programs are well aligned to meet socialeconomic transformation objectives and NRM leaders should resist any of mudslinging campaigns by opposition politicians as he explains.

He debunked sectarian agenda by opposition politicians and cautioned Ugandans against such practices, attributing NRM Party’s strength endurance to people centered leadership that has delivered on peace and stability, viable economic policy frameworks, health interventions and robust infrastructural development and wealth creation initiatives.

President Museveni who was meeting elected NRM leaders from Masaka district and city at Masaka state Lodge noted that the impact of the NRM government towards Uganda’s socialeconomic transformation is clear and proven thereby rallying all leaders to amplify the same initiatives for move

President Museveni affirmed the NRM government’s stance on wealth creation through the Parish Development Model Initiative and other schemes as he rallied all Ugandans above 18 years to enroll for the programs at their respective parishes.
