KAMPALA –  On Friday 27th,  March 2026, several schools gathered at Makerere  University to celebrate the Francophonie day as one of the ways to show case, learn and immerse them selves into the French culture.

The students had their do through poems, skits , dances , songs which were the best and simple way to master and learn the language through fun and enjoyment.

To most of them, it was their first time to enter the  gigantic gates of Makerere University  to some which is the goal after secondary and one could feel the excitement  all over.

Most of the schools prepared their best and of course others out-did them and  stole the show.

Those in the audience  screamed especially when their saw their mates on stage in solidarity and support  which was  motivation and cheer to their schools.

As the adage goes ” Work Without Play makes  Tony a dull  boy” this was so  because the students unleashed talent through fun and indeed they blasted.

” We saw some of you do your best. We urge  you to speak the  little french you know and do not fear to make mistakes while communicating.  I was impressed  by some of your dances, poems , skits and I urge you to practice more of the French so that you can learn better “.

She also thanked  all the students, teachers , organizers ,  regional representatives plus the host University for sparing their time to come through for the celebrations.
