NEWS– The Minister of State for Sports also the area MP for Ngariam County, Peter Ogwang has donated Ugx10M for the completion of St. Pakaras Catholic Church-Angobo in Ocorimongin Zone.
This money will help in the roofing of the church building which requires 200 iron sheets.
While delivering the message on behalf of the Minister, Jorem Obukui said that, Ogwang’s commitment of supporting churches and the work of God is exhibited ever since he started his journey of leadership.
“I am humbled by Ogwang’s contributions towards spiritual development and his social economic transformation initiatives. We need such leaders who bring services to the people. Ogwang is a true reflection of the people’s leader”, Obukui said amidst ululations from the Christians.
Besides contribution of Ugx 10m, Ogwang also supported baptism of 20 infants and other activities as the function went successfully.
Meanwhile, the secretary for Education and community based services in Katakwi district, Hon. Irene Among said, it’s hard to see a kind person like Ogwang adding that, his leadership skills have made Ngariam County known in the Entire Country.
“We should thank God for giving us such a developmental leader who sacrifices for his people. Ogwang is a blessing for us the people of Ngariam”, Among said.
Micheal Ateria, the Chairperson Organising Committee said, their Church needs Shs 40m for its completion and it will house over 1,000 Christians.
Ateria applauded Minister Ogwang for the support describing him as a people’s savior who understands the challenges affecting his voters.
The main celebrant of the day, Rv. Fr. Olivie Wayesu who is the Parish Priest St. Stephen Catholic Church Katakwi said, Christians should appreciate leaders who offer support towards a noble course.
