Ndamira addressing mourners

NEWS- The Kabale district woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira, has challenged the public to undergo early testing for non-communicable diseases to save at an early stage.

Ndamira revealed this on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the funeral service of Babukara Jairence in Rukoma Village, Kaharo Parish, Kaharo sub-county, Kabale district.

The late Babukara Jairence was born in 1929 and succumbed to hypertension at the age of 96. She was the mother of Byaruhanga Pauson, the chairperson of Rukoma village, Kaharo sub-county, and is survived by 10 children, 7 of whom are still alive.

Addressing the mourners at the funeral service, Ndamira challenged the public to always go for early testing for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, among others, which she said have taken many lives.

She also used the occasion to advocate for better farming methods to avoid soil erosion, saying this has affected the wells and river banks before causing havoc to roads and bridges. She supported the temporary bridge construction in Rukoma Village, Kaharo parish, Kaharo sub-county.

During the funeral service, Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira challenged the locals to join and participate in village groups aimed at bringing unity and development. Rev. Gad Sanyu, parish priest of Kaharo Church of Uganda, rooted for love and unity among Christians.

The man of God showed concern about some married couples, neighbors, and friends who do not greet each other, saying they were all created in the image of God.

Rev. Gad Sanyu dug holes on Christians who have totally refused to attend church services and make themselves busy in earthly pleasures. He challenged Christians to prepare for life after death.
