Participants at the Evaluation Meeting for the DOKAYSCO

KANUNGU- The Diocese of Kinkizi havw today met at Holy Cross Guest House, Nyakatare to evaluate the 2025 DOKAYSCO.

This crucial meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Diocesan Heads of Department, the Kinkiizi High School team, four representatives from the Diocesan Youth Executive Committee, and welfare service providers. 

According to the Diocesan Communications Officer Rev Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize, the primary agenda was to assess the recently concluded DOKAYSCO Annual Youth and Students Convention, which took place from January 16th to 19th 2025.

This year convention, saw over 2,500 participants attending the event which was celebrated as a great success and special recognition was given to the Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, Rt Rev Dan Zoreka for his unwavering support and full attendance throughout the event. 

Appreciation was also extended to the convention’s well-selected speakers, including Rev Can Dr Dancans Mugumya and his wife Rev Dr Elon Kebirungi, Rev Gordon Gumisiriza and his wife Ordinand Betty, as well as Alex Mutungi, who led participants in aerobics for physical well-being and Ms Catherine Smith from the UK. 

The meeting also acknowledged the exceptional leadership of Rev Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize, the Diocesan Youth and Children’s Coordinator, who spearheaded the convention’s planning alongside Hans Kiconco, Chairman of the Diocesan Youth Executive Committee, and the entire youth leadership team for their dedication was instrumental in ensuring the convention’s success.

Key Highlights and Lessons Learned

Several outstanding aspects of the convention were identified, including:

Well-executed sessions with impactful spiritual ministry, particularly in healing and deliverance.

A well-arranged venue, quality accommodations, and excellent welfare services, including good food.

A high-quality music system that enhanced worship experiences.

While the convention was overwhelmingly successful, minor challenges were noted, with recommendations for better planning to eliminate such hurdles in future events.

With the momentum of this year’s success, preparations for the 2026 DOKAYSCO Convention have officially begun and the Diocese aims to maintain the high standards set while addressing areas that need improvement and those who served exceptionally during the 2025 convention will be recognized through certificates and letters of appreciation.

The Diocese of Kinkiizi continues to invest in the spiritual growth and holistic development of youth and students, ensuring that such vibrant gatherings remain impactful and transformative.
