NEWS- The Police in Kisoro district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 62 year old woman Aida Nabakooza a peasant mukiga, resident of Rugagi village Nyundo parish Nyundo sub county Kisoro district.
ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesman told the press that on 21st January 2024 at around 8Pm, at Rugagi village, it’s when the deceased was last seen in the bar of Jonas drinking alcohol with Bunva John and Annet the wife of Jonas.
Unfortunately, on 22nd January 2024, when one Ntezeremye Amos was going to dig in his garden, passed by a feeder road next to her neighbor’s home now the deceased and saw the said Nabakooza lying in her compound.
Ntezeremye then informed one Annah who was also passing by, and the two critically observed the victim and she seemed dead and the matter was reported to police. Scene was visited and documented by a team of investigators, statements recorded from witnesses and the body was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem.
It was established that the deceased left the bar alone late in the night, and has been staying alone in the house as inquiries are underway.
