This is one of the significant reasons of being multilingual. Over the Weekend , Alliance Francaise de Kampala ( AFK) together with its partners awarded excellent performers in their “Njogera Francais” campaign which is aimed at promoting the French language in Uganda.
The winners were tested in the exams called “Diplome d’Etudes en Langue Francaise” ( DELF) in the various levels from the junior to senior categories.
While addressing the media at the awarding ceremony on Saturday 2, March and launch of the 2024 edition, the director, AFK, Eric Touze thanked his predecessor together with his team for coming up with a great campaign that has become a flagship brand in regards to promoting and supporting both the teachers and learners in the country.

“This year, we have visited many schools and giving them career guidance and people are getting to know the importance of learning a second language as an extra value.
We sent two teachers to France for a training and this year we are sending more teachers and giving out prizes to those excellent performers.
The winners will have aptops, desktops tabs , certificates, cash prizes and many others as a motivation for their great job done” Cwinya’ay added.

His Excellency Xavier Sticker, the French Ambassador to Uganda, said that Njogera Francais marks the begining of the French month which has a lot of activities and programs going and many in plan and the public should take part.

Next week we shall also have French universities in Uganda so that we can encourage those willing and able to study in France and vice versa can meet with the right people to enhance their opportunities” Sticker asserted.
