The minister of Education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni has today officially released the 2019 UACE results at the President’s office in the main auditorium.
According to Dan Nokratch Odong the UNEB general secretary 41.4% of female candidates attained 3 principle passes compared to the males with 34.7%.
Dan Odong also noted that 67.9% females scored 2 principle passes while males stood at 60.6%,
UNEB’s chairperson Professor Mary Okwakol reported that there were also little reported cases of examination malpractices compared to the previous years.
Prof. Okwakol noted that the rate of absenteeism dropped from 1.4% in 2018 to 1% in 2019 with a 98.6 passing rate.
According to UNEB, 10% of the candidature sat for Science related subjects. 30% did Mathematics, 10.9% did Physics while 16.2 sat for Chemistry.
History, Divinity, Literature, Physics, Mathematics, Biology were some of the better performed subjects in 2019. Economics, Entrepreneurship and Chemistry declined in the just released examinations.
A total of 104,481 students sat for the 2019 A-Level final examinations.
UNEB statistics show that 38,737 candidates passed with 3 principals passes compared to 36,656 in 2018.
2019 UACE examination results were released under the theme ‘’Integrity and security in the management of exams is my responsibility”.
