KAMPALA- The Director General of the Internal Security Organization (ISO), Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, has died.

Information about where he died from and the cause of his death remain scanty for now, however our teams are on ground to have the details of this happening.

Charles Oluka has been an officer at the rank of Brigadier general in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). He has been the Director General of the Internal Security Organisation, effective 8 October 2020, the position he took over from Kaka Bagyenda.

Before that, he served as the Director of technical services at the spy agency until 2018.

He took over ISO as the Director General of the Internal Security Organisation, on  8 October 2020 from Col Frank Bagyenda and he had served for 4 years .  

Brig Gen Charles Oluka had been battling with heart complications, according to sources in the military although the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed.

His passing was confirmed by military sources, including Deputy Defence spokespersons Col Deo Akiiki.

The son of Teso is survived by his wife Harriet Akisa, with whom he tied the knot at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Madera-Soroti, in 2023.

Before that, he served as the Director of technical services at the spy agency until 2018.
