NEWS– Nyakibale lower and upper primary schools have become the champions of Rukungiri Municipality Primary Schools football and netball competitions.
The Nyakibale lower Primary school boys’ football team for boys defeated their closest rivals of Nyakibale upper with 2 goals to nil in a heated final game played at Omukagashe playground in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
The two schools will represent the Municipality at National competitions on the date that will be communicated soon from the National Organizing Committee.
The Rukungiri Municipality Principal education officer Alfred Katabazi Mutuuza while officiating at the handover of trophies to the champion schools thanked the administrators for accepting to take part in sports and maintaining discipline in these games.
Katabazi asked the teams that qualified for the National competitions to continue training so that they can get better results adding that the Municipality will sit and see how to support them.

Bruno Mugisha, the head teacher of Nyakibale Upper Boarding Primary School and the leader of Rukungiri Municipality Primary Schools Head Teachers Association, urged sports teachers to diligently train the selected teams bound for the national stage for better results.
Mugisha emphasized the importance of continuous training to enhance their performance in the forthcoming competitions.
He further lauded the school administrators for wholeheartedly supporting their pupils’ participation in the football competitions, underscoring the significance of nurturing talents alongside academic pursuits.

Henry Byarugaba, the Nyakibale Lower Primary School head teacher who also sits on the Rukungiri Municipality Primary Sports Committee said that it was a blessing for his school to win a trophy adding that they are ready even to participate in National competitions and perform well.
Byarugaba hailed the participants for the discipline exhibited on the pitch ever since the games started at the division level up to the Municipality level.
