NEWS- The Police in Kanungu District have registered a case of murder following assault which took place in Katate Cell in Western Ward of Kanungu Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman identified the deceased as 63 year old
Bagambe Politazio a peasant and a resident of Katate Cell in Western Ward of Kanungu Town Council in Kanungu District and the Police have since arrested Buradina Baguma who allegedly assaulted him.
The case was reported to Police by Turyamushaba Midius from the same area who alleged that on the 16th April 2025 the deceased Bagambe who was drunk, coming from Kanungu Town reached at Katate cell near his home and unfortunately fell down into the suspect’s bean garden, which annoyed her and got a stick and assaulted him.
Bagambe continued to his home and started complaining of chest and stomach pain until on Tuesday 22nd April 2023, when he died while he was preparing to go to the hospital.
The Police from Kanungu Central Police Station have retrieved the body and took it to Katate Health Center IV for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
