NEWS-The President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has asked religious leaders to preach the Gospel of transformation that will help followers elevate themselves from poverty.
In his Speech read for him by the Minister of Public Service Hon. Muruli Mukasa at the Consecration of Assistant Mufti Bunyoro Tooro Region Sheik Talibu Galibu Hussein at Bwikya Hill in Hoima East Division Hoima City on Friday, Museveni said Development alone is not enough but is a collective good for everyone that should be translated into jobs and wealth for families in order to be meaningful.
He said people should now engage in Commercial agriculture, Services industries and Information Communication Technology.
He Congratulated the New Assistant Mufti upon the Achievement also asking the Muslim community to support him perform his obligations.
His Eminence the Mufti of Uganda Sheik Shaban Ramathan Mubbaje asked the new Assistant Mufti Bunyoro – Tooro region to be responsible and unite all the Muslims by taking them into the right direction also calling upon the Muslims to Support him to develop the community.
He commended the work of the inter religious council of Uganda as far as ensuring unity is concerned thereby asking the Government to use the same council in promoting its programmes.
The Assistant Mufti Bunyoro Tooro Region Sheik Talibu Galibu Hussein in his maiden Speech after being Consecrated, promised to work hard and promote unity adding the Muslim community and leadership should work together with him and guide him where necessary for the smooth running of his work.
Different Dignitaries from Kasese, Bundibugyo, Fort Portal, Hoima Kagadi, Masindi, Kiryandongo among others attended the function.
In a related development, the Bunyoro – Tooro Muslim Community are unhappy with the Government due to unfulfilled Pledges made by H.E the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
According to His Eminence the Mufti of Uganda Sheik Shaban Ramathan Mubbaje, President Museveni Promised to contribute towards the construction of regional offices in Hoima some years ago but up to now he has never fulfilled it.
Mubaje raised the concerns at the Consecration of Assistant Mufti Bunyoro Tooro Region Sheik Talibu Galibu Hussein at Bwikya Hill in Hoima East Division Hoima City on Friday.
He added that the Government has been sidelining the muslims especially while offering vehicles to different religious leaders thereby asking the government to consider regional Kadhis by offering them transport means.
However, responding to mufti Shaban Ramathan Mubajje’s queries, the Minister of Public Service Hon Muruli Mukasa who represented the Chief guest the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, said the president is aware of all the pledges he made and is yet to fulfill them adding that the ministry of public service was directed to formulate a formula to be followed while giving different religious leaders vehicles and other transport means.
