NEWS- The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development who is also the Secretary to the Treasury Ramathan Ggoobi has announced that Kanungu District will receive a total of Ugx 950 million to be used on capital projects in Kanungu District.

According to a letter dated February 20th 2024 and signed by Ggoobi, the funds have been provided to the district after a request was made by the district leaders who include the Members of Parliament and LC 5 Chairman to fund various projects.

The letter addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), which this Online Publication has seen indicates that the funds should be budgeted for as per chart of accounts in line with budgeting for assets as they finalise the budget estimates for the financial year 2024/2025.

The projects to be worked on include the rehabilitation of reinstatement of various road bridges in Kinkizi East which will cost Ugx 300 million, the construction of classroom block at Kyajura Primary School will cost Ugx 100 million and completion and furnishing Kihihi Town Council Administration Block will need Ugx 100 million.

Others include construction of Makanga Parents School at Ugx 100 million, Nyamakamba Primary School will need Ugx 100 million, Kyantuhe Primary School will take Ugx 100 million and the Nyakishoji – Katiba – Bwende Road will need Ugx 150 million.
