The Police in Rubanda District have registered a hit and run fatal road crash where a 36 year old man identified as Albert Nuwamanya a resident of Muyumbu, Kynamira Sub-county in Kabale district was killed on spot.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident that took place last night March 16th 2026, at Bubare Trading Centre along Kabale – Kisoro Road in Rubanda district when motorcycle registration number UFQ 036L and unknown motor vehicle were involved..

Maate told journalists today morning that it’s alleged that both motor vehicle and motorcycle were moving in the same direction from Kabale heading to Kisoro and the motor vehicle came from behind and knocked down the motorcycle ridder who died on spot and the vehicle driver proceeded without stopping.
Maate said that the scene was visited and documented by the Traffic Police Team and the body was delivered to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination and the Motorcycle taken to Rubanda Central Police Station pending inspection.
Meanwhile the Police has commenced the hunt for the Motor Vehicle driver who fled the scene without stopping and whoever has information that can lead to him or recovery of the vehicle, should volunteer it to any Police Station as investigations continue.
