KANUNGU— The Kanungu Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ahimbisibwe Gad Rugaju, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Immanuel International Christian University in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to social justice.

Dr. Rugaju, who is also pursuing a PhD in Organizational Management at Northwestern Christian University, received the Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Ministry, D.Min) in Leadership during a ceremony that marks a significant milestone in his career.

His contributions to fighting impunity and corruption have made him a respected figure in his community and beyond.

The award was conferred in recognition of his selfless leadership, commitment to fighting impunity and corruption, and his role as a voice for the voiceless.

“This recognition is not about me as an individual, but about the values of integrity, service, and accountability that we must all uphold in leadership. I dedicate this award to the people of Kanungu and Uganda at large,” said Dr. Rugaju after receiving the award.

An honorary doctorate is a prestigious academic award given to individuals for their exceptional contributions to society, culture, or a specific field. Unlike traditional academic degrees, it is awarded without the requirement of academic study or research.

Shortly after his graduation, Rugaju extended his appreciation to the Commander in Chief, the President of the Republic of Uganda His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the opportunity accorded to him to serve as a Deputy RDC, a position that has enabled him to pursue academic excellence.

“This Honorary Doctorate is dedicated to him and all RDC fraternity” said Rugaju briefly after his graduation.
