KAMPALA- The Electoral Commission has finally gazzated the Kawempe North Member of Parliament Elect Erias Nalukoola Luyimbazi following two weeks of long waiting.
Nalukoola Luyimbazi was elected on March 13th 2025 and got a total of 17,939 votes defeating his rival Faridah Nambi Kigongo who managed to get 9,058 votes and is now awaiting swearing in.
The Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama Mugyenyi noted that Erias Nalukoola Luyimbazi had got the majority of votes in the Kawempe North by-election and was therefore declared the winner.
Other candidates in the Kawempe North by-election included Engena Edward Maitum, Kasacca Henry Mubiru, Luwemba Mohamed, Mukibi Sadat, Hanifah Karadi, Musiitwa Ismail, Mutazindwa Mohamed and Nsereko Moses.
