KASESE- Kilembe investments Limited, one of the Rural power Distributors in Western Uganda has officially handed the task to Uganda Electricity Distribution company limited as the new official distributors of power in Uganda.
Uganda Electricity Distributors Company Limited which is the National Power Distributor today received the official documents from Kilembe Investments limited at a hand over ceremony that was held at Rwenzori Square in Kasese town.
In his speech at the event Ms. Jane Burunji the Executive Director at Kilembe Investments Limited (KIL) noted that they have been in power Distribution for 17 years and they have been implementing the government plans of extending power nearer to the community especially in the rural areas of the seven Districts in the Western Uganda.
Ericana Bwambale Musoka the Company chairperson board of governors says Kilembe Investments Limited after handing over the Distribution authority to UDECL, they are now going to generation through embracing solar power systems.
Engineer Judith Naiga who represented Electricity Regulatory Authority said the transition was normal since government want to take full control of the power supply systems.
