The Police in Kigezi Sub Region have deployed heavily throughout the region, to create an enabling environment for the people to exercise their civic rights of choosing their own leaders without any interference.
This was disclosed today July 15th by the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate in a statement he issues to various media outlets under theme, “Peaceful Elections in all parts of Uganda”.
The Policeassured the general public of total security before, during and after the elections starting with the NRM primaries scheduled to start on the 17th July 2025.
Maate however said that the Police will succeed in its work if the people themselves fully cooperate with the security and asked all to be each other’s keepers by keeping law and order, and doing everything within the confines of the law.
The Police Spokesman also urged the citizens to remain disciplined and refrain from participating in any criminal act and to follow instructions issued from time to time by the relevant offices and by the security.
Maate warned whoever intends to disrupt the election exercise and or to do anything contrary to the required guidelines issued by the NRM Electoral body, will be risking the long arm of the law and will be dealt with without fear or favor.
