The Police in Kyegegwa District have launched investigations into the brutal murder of three people in Karokalungi village, Kyamagaba Parish, in Nkanja Sub-county.
The Rwenzori West Police Spokesman Vincent Twesige identified the victims as 28 year old woman Kansiime Christine, her one-year-and-three-month-old daughter, Miracle, and a domestic worker identified as Joan Arinda aged 19.
Twesige told journalists today morning that according to preliminary reports, the bodies were discovered on October 8, 2026, when a neighbour who was not named visited the home of the deceased to check on the occupants and she immediately alerted other neighbours, who subsequently informed the Police.
Twesige said that officers from Kyaka II Police Station rushed to the scene, and wete later joined by a team from Kyegegwa Central Police Station (CPS).
It is reported that upon arrival, the officers found that the crime scene had been well preserved by the first responders and sniffer dog named Bruno was then deployed to track the scent of the suspected perpetrators.
Twesige explained that during the tracking exercise, the Sniffer dog led the officers to a corridor in Bwiliza Ndolobwile Village, where clothing belonging to one of the deceased was recovered and the trail subsequently led the team to the home of Bageza Tonesiti, where the clothing was found.
The Police have since arrested two suspects whose identities were not revealed due the sensitivity of the matter in connection with the triple murder following the canine tracking operation.
Twesige however said that investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and gather further evidence to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
