NEWS- The Police in Rubanda District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Rwanyarare Julius a resident of Nyarurambi Cell in Ikamaro Parish in Muko Sub County.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the deceased is suspected to have been killed by his wife Nyangire Estali during a family feud which has been there for long whenever Rwanyarare returned home he would assault the wife.

Maate told journalists that on the night of 13th March, 2025 Rwanyarare came from the bar while drunk and started beating the wife and also picked a hoe and attempted to hit the wife, but in the process his wife held the said hoe and instead hit the husband on the head injuring him seriously.

The neighbors were alerted including the area Chairperson LC1 Byaruhanga Milton who took the initiative and rushed Rwanyarara to a nearby clinic for medical attention.

However, on 15th March, 2025 Rwanyarare health condition worsened and he was referred to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for better management where he passed on.

Rwanyarare wife Nyangire was subsquebtly arrested by the locals and transferred to Muko Police Station for further investigation and a team of Homicide officers together with the district Scene of Crime Officer responded to the crime scene and documented it where a small hoe was recovered at the scene and being treated as an exhibit.

Maate said that a postmortem examination has been done and the body handed over to the relatives for a decent burial as investigations continue.
