NEWS- The Police in Bushenyi District are investigating a tragic incident that occurred in the Greater Bushenyi Region, specifically in Kahaya Village, Rwentuha Town Council, Bushenyi District.
The cirmustances have since culminated into the report of a suspected murder case, with the victim being Kawesi Vincent, a 25-year-old student at Uganda Technical College – Kahaya Bushenyi District.
According to the incident report, Kawesi, now the deceased left his college on Tuesday evening March 18th, 2025, for a leisure outing.
The Greater Bushenyi Region Police spokesman SSP martial Tumusime told the press that Kawesi’s body was found lying on the roadside at Kahaya village along the Bushenyi-Mbarara Highway by residents around 7:30 am on Wednesday morning, March 19th 2025.
The police were informed about the incident through a phone call, and they swiftly took action.
A case file was opened, a team of detectives and Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) visited the scene, documenting and examined it, recorded statements from witnesses, and the body was taken to the KIU Teaching Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was found lying on his chest with blood oozing from his mouth, nose, and a loose neck. However, there were no visible external injuries on the body. Notably, those who knew the deceased described him as a drunkard.
The police are currently investigating the case, as they await the postmortem report to determine the exact cause of his death.
