The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has applauded people of Kiruhura District and the entire cattle corridor for aligning to wealth creation through cattle rearing and diary production as he challenged them to diversify their enterprise selection.
While campaigning in Liruhura District last evening, President Museveni noted that efforts towards socioeconomic transformation through commercial agriculture and production have evidently paid off in the Kiruhura, Kazo, Ssembabule District and others in the cattle corridor and has rallied them to intensify.
The Presidenti has however, guided the people of Kiruhura District on the diversification strategies to harness more wealth after reports show how the NRM wealth creation strategies have paid off through the significant drop in the number of people living under subsistance farming.
President Museveni challenged the people of Kiruhura District to desist from subsistance farming by utilizing the government socioeconomic empowerment funds like PDM, Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Programs, Women Empowerment Fund and others to create wealth at individual and household levels and promised swift intervention to address the livestock disease that has emerged in the cattle corridor
He confirmed more tarmac roads to Kiruhura District that include Kiruhura – Kashonji – Ruhumba road and Rushere – Kinoni – Nyabitanga road, but warned against non-prioritized approaches on development to which he attributes delays for essential development initiatives
President Museveni also promised to avail the only remaining Sub county of Kayanja in Kiruhura district with a Health Center III in the next term of office as he he highlighted scores in the health sector and urged the people of Kiruhura to vote for NRM overwhelmingly.
Presidential Candidate Museveni elaborated that the NRM industrialization plans for job creation and enhancement of the services sector, commercial agriculture and skills and guided the electorate of Kiruhura District on the significance of free universal education as a job creation strategy as demonstrated by graduates of the presidential Industrial skilling Hubs
He explained how the NRM politics of unity earned the country ultimate peace, stability and thriving development and highlighted the 7 core contributions of the NRM government to Uganda’s socioeconomic transformation and rallied the electorate of Kiruhura District to preserve and protect the gains made so far as the country further advances into a higher middle income Status nation
The NRM Presidential Candidate was accompanied by the National Vice Chairperson Rt Hon Anita Among, the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, CEC Members led by the Western Uganda NRM Vice Chairperson Eng Jornard Asimwe Akiiki, Several Cabinet Ministers, the NRM Secretary General Hon Richard Todwong and other top Secretariat Administration Team.
