The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has unveiled plans to boost the cattle industry and guided the people of Kazo District in Ankole Sub region to adopt modern cattle rearing practices to maximize their earnings
While addressing a campaign rally at Kazo Model Primary school Playgrounds in Kazo District, President Museveni cited several successful diary farmers with modern approaches including Joseph Ijara from Serere district, Richard Nyakana of Fort Portal district and several in Ankore Sub region who have maximized profits from diary farming through modern cattle rearing practices
President Museveni guided cattle farmers in Kazo District the unexplored profitability aspect they need to integrate into their farm management plans and cautioned families against land fragmentation and guided them to establish family companies
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate also guided the electorate of Kazo District to maximize options for wealth creation and explainsles viable lucrative commercial enterprises for small and large scale land owners to consider for wealth creation
He listed enterprises including diary farming, poultry, fruit growing, fish farming and others thatvare suitable for investment and rallied the people of Kazo District to maximize their options in wealth creation as demonstrated by several wealth creation examples in District whom they should emulate
President Museveni confirmed the government plans to tarmac 156km Kazo – Burunga – Kabagore – Mpara – Kyegegwa – Apuyu road and said that the implementation is yet to kickoff but the contractor has been identified
He also revealed the government strategies to draw water from Katonga River to enhance water supply for Kazo District, an initiative intended to scaleup piped water supply in the district on top of other economic infrastructural developments including electricity, telecommunication services among others
Candidate Museveni rallied the electorate of Kazo District to embrace unity for sustainable peace and elaborated that the NRM job creation plan in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services and ICT to the people of Kazo District is guided on the potential of youth skilling for job creation
He explained that the NRM party has an edge he has over other candidates vying for the presidency and urged the people to vote for all NRM candidates from village level to Parliament and Presidency.
During the same event, the NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong explains that the move depicts the thriving democracy in the country and the existing interparty cordial relations and listed all the ten opposition political parties in attendance during the NRM presidential campaign rally at Kazo Model Primary School Play Grounds in Kazo District
The NRM second National Vice Chairperson female Anita Among outlined development interventions budgeted for Kazo District and pledged that they will be worked on while the former Minister for Works and Transport John Nasasira highlighted the NRM scorecard in Kazo District which he explained was hinged on the development the government has extended to the District.
The rally was attended by several top NRM leaders led by the NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda Hon Jornard Asiimwe Akiiki and District NRM Leaders.
