President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who started his campaign in Kigezi Sub Region on November 24th 2025, has asked the people of Kigezi Region to remain focused on wealth creation in order to transform their lives.
While addressing a huge rally at Kisoro Saaza Playground in Kisoro District, President Museveni who was accompanied by top National Resistance Movement party leaders led by the National Vice Chairperson (female) Rt Hon Anita Among and the Party Secretary General Hon Richard Todwong, show cased videos of Ugandans who have transformed their homes by following the massage of wealth creation.
“Jobs come from wealth, whether through the four-acre model, factories we have launched across the country, or the skills gained from our skilling hubs,” The President noted.
President Museveni who earlier in the day accessed Kisoro District through the newly tarmacked road, asked the people of Kisoro to vote for the NRM like they have always done.
During the rally in Kisoro District which marked the firsf stop in Kigezi Region, President Museveni who is the NRM party presidential flagbearer presented the National Resistance Movement Seven Manifesto focus points to the people of Kisoro and said that in the next Kisanja, electricity to Nyarubuye Sub County, which is the only one without power, and also construct a new Health Centre III in Chanika Town Council.
The President noted that the 2026 to 2031 NRM Manifesto is a continuation of our journey of peace, development and prosperity which is reflected on the value of peace.
“Our people in Kisoro know this well because they neighbour Democratic Republic of Congo, a country that has suffered wars for many years. Here in Uganda, we defeated Kony and the other rebel groups and secured peace, and we must protect it,” President Museveni said.
Later in the day, President Museveni addressed a huge rally at Kabirizi Playground in Rubanda District where he was joined by the former Prime Minister Rt Hon Livingstone Ruhakana Rugunda who welcomed him to Kigezi Region.
President Museveni told the residents of Rubanda District that because the NRM has been able to champion peace across the country, they have pushed development across Kigezi and the whole country.
“We worked on the Kabale to Kisoro road and we are preparing more strategic roads like Kisoro to Nkuringo, Katuna to Muko to Kamuganguzi, Hamurwa to Kanungu to Buhoma, and the Kabale to Bunyonyi to Kisoro to Mgahinga route where funding is already secured,” The President said.
He said that Rubanda District in particular should know that National Resistance Movement’s plan is clear and continuing given the many developmenal projects going on in health, education, electricity and water provisios which aim at transforing peoples lives.
He therefore asked the people to focus their energies on household wealth incomes that will go along way in creating jobs that spur development and in that way they will protect the gains and move forward together.
