The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed the Prime Minister to effect the step down of high voltage electricity transmission in Kiryandongo District to supplement the current power reach across the District.
President Museveni noted that the developments in the electricity sector are aligned to reach all homesteads and has guided on the further implementation of the initiative to support wealth creation and production.
While addressing a rally at Karaganya Playgrounds in Kiryandongo District President Museveni said that the government is committed to elevate all government secondary schools in the area into Advanced Level moving forward as part of efforts to further improve access to education for the people of Kiryandongo District.
He reminded the people of Kiryandongo District how the NRM has directly impacted their area and rallied them for more support
Candidate Museveni registered complaints from Kiryandongo residents about the implementation of the Parish Development Model Initiative in their district and ordered the line Minister for Local Hovernment Hon Raphael Magyezi and the PDM Secretariat to intervene in the matter.
President Museveni has outlined the 4 sectors for wealth creation that the NRM government is fostering as a wealth creation strategy for all which iinclude commercial agriculture, artisanship and Manufacturing, services sector among others
The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate guided the people of Kiryandongo District on sustainable land use for small and large scale land owners as spelled out in the NRM manifesto and urged the people to effectively utilize government socioeconomic empowerment funds to attain wealth at individual and household levels.
President Museveni noted that the Parish Development Model Initiative, Youth Livelihood Programs, Women Empowerment Fund and other schemes are well aligned to elevate all those living under subsistancehood into the money economy.
He guided the people of Kiryandongo District on job creation avenues and sectors propelled by the NRM government to increase job opportunities which include the enhancement of skills training as demonstrated by graduates of the presidential zonal Industrial skilling Hubs, commercial agriculture, artisanship and Manufacturing and the services sector and advised the people of Kiryandongo District on unity and nonsectarian politics.
The National Resistance Movement 2nd National Vice Chairperson Rt Hon Anita Among commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for developments in refugee hosting areas in Kiryandongo District under the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP) and other development aspects.
