NEWS– In an interesting twist of events this afternoon, the Bukomansimbi North Member of Parliament Nandagire Christine Ndiwalana has decried the growing number of prostitutes in Kigangazzi, town council.
Ndiwalana says the migration of sluts into the area follows appreciation in coffee prices which has caused men to seek companionship with prostitutes.
This has been disclosed during the prime ministers’ question time during a session chaired by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa.
Ndiwalana explained that Kigangazzi town council in Bukomansimbi district, received boost in business from the sale of coffee farmers hence attracting prostitutes from Lukaya town council (Kalungu district), Masaka and other neighboring districts. This has resulted into killing men who move with huge cash in exchange of sex.
The legislator stressed that three younger men have since been killed by prostitutes pretending to be giving them the services but end up stabbing them to death.
She added that this evil has also caused domestic violence in homes where married men are involved and the trend has since led to an increment in HIV rates.
Ndiwanala wants these prostitutes returned to Masaka city where there is an available market for them. In reply, the Prime Minister Nabanja pointed out that local councils and the Police will work together to arrest these prostitutes so that coffee farmers enjoy their money peacefully.
The Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa directed the Prime Minister to work with the Internal Affairs ministry to sort out this issue of illegality.
