The Police in Rubanda District have arrested a man identified as Kabuyanda Tamugabomwe for the alleged murder of the wife his 30 year old wife Linna Mariserina and both are residents of Rwamahano village in Ikamiro Parish in Muko Sub-county
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the incident that took place yesterday at Rwamahano village where the suspect is alleged to have severely assaulted his wife now deceased, on suspicion that she was having a love affair with another man.
It is reported that after the assault, the deceased was left lying with head injuries helplessly, until when, the area LC 1 Chairperson Turyahirwa Benard found where she had been left lying in that critical condition and traced for the suspect Kabuyanda to attend to his wife and advised him to take her to the hospital for medical treatment.
However, Kabuyanda carried and put her in a temporary tent where they have been living while guarding domestic animals in the neighborhood, where she was later found dead and thereafter the suspect handed himself to the Village Defence Secretary Kamene Denis who took him to Muko Police Station and reported.
Maate explained that the scene was visited and documented and a postmortem examination was done at the scene and the body handed over to relatives for burial.
Maate urged that it’s always advisable to handle any type of grievances amicably or utilize the services of local leaders or relevant offices to help them out instead of taking law into their own hands.
