NEWS- As the saying goes that, all promises are either broken or kept, the Rukungiri District local government leadership has expressed its disappointments with the government of Uganda following unending unfulfilled pledges.
According to the report presented by the district Boss Geoffrey Kyomukama on behalf of the district leadership, these unending unfulfilled pledges have left big gaps in service delivery to their subjects.
He narrated that most of these pledges were done long time ago but to their surprise they have never been honoured.
Kyomukama revealed that among many pledges was the Kashenyi S.S school bus pledge made by the president Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He highlighted on other different unfulfilled pledges including the District hospital pledge which he says has left the medical referral process in the district incomplete.
The Bwambara and Bugangari sub counties’ water project that was pledged in the 2021 but all in vain.
He also talked about the 50 computers pledge for Bwambara SS which he says was made during the 2018 hotly contested District woman MP by-election.
Other unfulfilled pledges according to Kyomukama are; the 100M pledge for North Kigezi Diocese Sacco, the 100M pledge made by Gen. Kahinda Otafire on behalf of the President for the construction of girls’ dormitory at Rukungiri municipality based Kinyasano Girls’ High school.
He added that the pledges made during the 2016 presidential election campaigns on roads construction in the area have also never been honoured.
The roads that were pledged to be worked on included the Rukungiri- Mitaano- Kanungu road (44.5km), Kisizi – Kabalanga -Rugyeyo – Kanungu road ( 38Km) and Kebisoni – Kisizi – Muhanga road ( 61Km).
