The Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rt Hon Anita Among has today morning hosted her counterparts from the National Assemblies of the East African Community for a breakfast meeting held on the sidelines of the ongoing East African Community  Inter-Parliamentary Games.

The games  provide a platform that brings together legislators from across EAC member states, united by a shared commitment to strengthening, advancing, and deepening East African integration.

The Speakers also took a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the visionary leadership of the founding architects of the integration agenda led by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whose  dedication has been central to shaping the East African Community.

The games which are taking place in Kampala, is being attended by East African Community Member Countries that include Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo and hosts Uganda plus the East African Community Legislative Assembly Members.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Anita Among has today led a delegation of visiting Speakers and deputies from the East African Community countries to pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.

While in a meeting with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Speakers commended Uganda for its pivotal role in fostering regional integration and unity.

Speaker Among acknowledged the Chief of Defence Forces for the vital contributions of security agencies in ensuring the safety of our nations, and for their missions that have significantly contributed to regional stability.

While addressing the visitors Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba characterised the visit as historic, expressing gratitude to the visitors for their presence at the armed forces headquarters.
