The Rt Hon Speaker, Anita Among has today paid an impromptu visit to the Uganda Cranes team while they are in camp for the CHAN Championship and offered encouraging words to boost their morale.
She urged the players to give their best effort to raise Uganda’s flag high on the continental stage and also conveyed the support f the President Yoweri KagutaMuseveni, whom she referred to as Uganda football’s number one fan.
Speaker Among assured the team that the President, as strong supporter of sports in the country, would motivate them in their patriotic duty.
The Speaker also presented a contribution of US 20,000 dollars to the team, pledging to donate the same amount for every win and she also delivered a contribution of Ugx 20 million from businessman Hammis Kigundu, who has promised to reward the team with the same amount for each victory in the tournament.
