KINSHASA- The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has tasked the government to disclose its plans regarding the ongoing situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). MORE ON

Ssenyonyi’s concern arose after information that our embassy in DRC had been burnt by unknown militia groups in Congo.

He also reminded the government that it’s disturbing that our ambassador to DRC hasn’t been accredited for nearly four years, unwavering visa fees to Ugandans by DRC, and demanding the current status of Ugandans in Congo.

Similarly, Kira Municipality MP Semujju Nganda requested parliament to ask the Minister of Defense to report and update parliament and the country on the status of our UPDF troops in Congo following the reckless statement by CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba against other sovereign states, which may be even partly attributed to the burning of our embassy in Congo.
