MASAKA- The Chief Magistrate’s court has today convicted and sentenced a 34-year-old woman for feeding her neighbour’s child with faeces and urine.
Prosecution led by George Kalinaki, told court that on November 4, Stella Namwanje, 34 a resident of Binyonyi A, Nyendo-Mukungwe division in Masaka city was caught with her phone with a video showing her feeding her friend’s child with faeces.
Mr Kalinaki said that upon the video being received, her neighbors reported the matter to the authorities which led to her arrest.
State alleges that the child was examined and he was found with a healing wound on his left eye which indicated that the convict had tortured him in the process of feeding the baby.
According to Kalinaki, Namwanje was examined and she was found to be HIV positive.
Namwanje, who was convicted upon her plea of guilty, asked court to forgive her because she does not know what came over her.
In his ruling, his worship Natwijuka said that the character of the convict is not fit for the Society
Natwijuka said that the sentence shall serve as a message to people like Namwanje never to do such acts to the innocent souls.
However, Natwijuka said that the convict did not waste the court’s time and she was the first offender who showed remorselessness.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother Olivia Mbabazi who was not in court at the time of conviction, said on phone that she was not happy with the sentence that the offender needed to be given a death sentence.
