KAMPALA- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Professor Moses Muhwezi as the new substantive Principal of Makerere University Business School under Article 172(1) of the Ugandan Constitution.
Professor Muhwezi’s appointment is effective immediately and marks the beginning of a five-year term and this appointment was formally announced through a presidential instrument.
Professor Moses Muhwezi brings with him an impressive academic and professional background. He holds a PhD in Public Procurement, an area in which he has conducted extensive research and contributed valuable insights.
Prior to this new role, Professor Muhwezi had been serving as the interim Principal of MUBS following the expiration of Professor Wasswa Balunywa’s contract and has held several key roles at the institution, including serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration and later as the Deputy Principal of MUBS.
His leadership as interim Principal had already seen the institution maintain its academic standards and focus on enhancing the quality of education and research.
