RUBIRIZI- The Katerera Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Haji Muhammad Katoto Kato has warned the youths against the vice of abusing religious and political leaders especially on various social media platforms.

Hon Haji Muhammad Katoto says there is a serious concern about the youths who are undisciplined and even being used by some politicians to tarnish names of their opponents.

Hon. Katoto was speaking as a chief guest while commissioning/opening of a mosque and a school called IBN JAZAR P/S in Katerera Town council in Rubirizi district today Friday 22nd December 2023. The project cost Ugx 1.5 Billion.

Hon. Muhammad Katoto asked the youths to have a positive mindset change that can sharpen their future arguing that harassing and tarnishing leaders is useless but should rather love and cooperate with their leaders since they are the ones who voted for them.

He then challenged parents to always allocate what to do to their children so that they can be busy during this long holiday and they don’t get time to misuse social media which can even cause problems such as being charged in Ugandan courts of law.

Hon Katoto further advised Katerera and Rubirizi community to shun the vice of selling their votes in exchange for money at any price since at the end they pay for it since they fail to get better services and start excusing leaders yet they are the ones to blame. He also tasked netizens to keep supporting NRM if they still want better services.

Sheikh Abdul Karimu Katamba, regional khadi for Ankole and Kigezi in Uganda Muslim Supreme Council urged parents to work together with school administrators to maintain the school strategy and promises plus supporting education by bringing their children in large numbers to the school.

Speaking at the same function, Sheikh Buruhani Byekwaso Abdul, director Nile Cultural Development Association thanked people including the family of Late Nkedi who donated land for the construction of the school and mosque stressing that without land, there would be no business.

Meanwhile, the Rubirizi vice district chairperson Byamukama Aventino thanked the donors for supporting education in the district and argued parents to invest alot of money in education for a better tomorrow.

Furthermore, he tasked the youths to get involved in conserving the environment by planting trees, preach against wetland degradation if they want to save the coming generations.
