The Police in Kanungu District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 16 year old identified as Darius Tukamushaba a resident of Kakoni cell in Nyarugunda Parish in Kambuga Sub-county, who was allegedly stabbed with a knife by Mugisha.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists that the incident took place yesterday at Omukashansha Trading Center in Kakoni cell in Kambuga Sub-county in Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that while the suspect was in the bar of Kasingire with other friends drinking alcohol and the deceased came and called him to go outside the bar and see and Tayebwa Yeremia also moved out to see what they had gone to do.
It is reported that with in a short time Mugisha pulled out a knife from his pockets and stabbed Darius on the stomach and he fell down and Tayebwa ran back to the bar and informed his friend Niwasiima Pakarasio about what had happened, then they informed the area chairperson who later notified the relatives who rushed the victim to Kambuga hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Maate explained that the scene of crime was visited, examined and documented by the police, statements were recorded from relevant witnesses and the postmortem examination was conducted from Kambuga hospital and efforts to get the suspect arrested are being made.
