The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 23 year old man identified as Mutabazi Peter a resident of Nyarungwe village in Katokye Parish in Kyanamira Sub-county who was lynched by mob for allegedly for mistreating his biological father Turyamureba John.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident that took place today afternoon at Rubira Trading Centre in Kyanamira Sub-county in Kabale District.
It’s alleged that, information was received from a resident of Nyarungwe village, that Mutabazi Peter was killed at Rubira Trading Centre by unknown persons after he assaulted his biological father on several occasions and stealing his properties.
A case of murder was registered at Kyanamira Police Station and later at Kabale Central Police Station amd the scene was visited, processed and documented, relevant statements were recorded from the witnesses at the scene and postmortem examination done at the scene.
Maate has however condemned the act of mob justice and urged people to desist from acts of lawlessness and resort to lawful methods of dealing with suspected criminals and investigations are ongoing to establish those involved, so that are apprehended for prosecution.
