Police warns public against nearing Tanzanian truck that overturned along Kabale - Kisoro Road

The Police in Kabale registered a minor road accident that involved a fuel tank truck and a Jaguar bus at Kyonyo Trading Centre along Kabale – Katuna road today morning.

Town Council in Wakiso District and registration number RAF 976W/RL4457 driven by Samana Abdul Karim a resident of Rwamagana District in Rwanda. 

Maate explained that it’s alleged that the driver of the fuel tank was driving from Kigali heading to Kenya and when he crossed the border to Uganda, he forgot that in Uganda they keep left, he kept driving on the right and when he reached Kyonyo Trading Centre he met with a bus which was coming from Kampala heading to Rwanda in its lane and they had a head on crush.

Maate said that fortunately, nobody was injured and the scene was visited and documented, the motor vehicles were taken to Kabale Central Police Station pending Inspector of Vehicles inspection as investigations continue.

Meanwhile the Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which Justus Tumusiime as per the documents found on him, was discovered dead at Rwabashenyi village Kabaraga Kaharo sub county Kabale District.

Information was received at Kaharo Police station about a body of someone lying in a sweat potato garden at Rwabashenyi village Kabaraga along the Kabale  Mbarara road and when the Police reached there, it confirmed the same body.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and said that the Police Detectives visited the scene, processed and documented it.

When the body was checked, was found with a national identity card in the names of Tumusiime Justus aged 41 years a resident of Nyamitooma ii village Bikurungu parish Bwambara sub county Rukungiri District.

The body was retrieved from the scene and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
