Kigezi Region Police PRO ASP Elly Maate

The Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which two people were reported dead after they were found hanging.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and disclosed that the first one was Michael Twesigomwe who is alleged to have hanged with a rope on an ovacado tree at Rwamucumo village  in Nyakasharara Parish in Kamuganguzi Sub-county. 

Maate explained that the deceased was hailing from Makanga cell in Kabale Municipality and was working as a shamba boy and hanged from an ovacado tree in the compound of the boss for unknown reasons.

Maate revealed that the second one was of Benson Twinomuhangi who hanged himself at Kyambinga village in Ntarabana parish in Buhara Sub-county also in Kabale district, who was allegedly found hanged with a shirt on an eucalyptus tree in a garden and is alleged to have had a mental health issue on and off.

Maate said that the Police at Central Police Station Kabale visited both scenes and postmortem examination were done and bodies handed over to the relatives for burial.

Maate has since urged the people to should always seek services of the relevant offices to settle their agreviouses amicably than claiming their own lives which doesn’t solve anything.
