Police Investigate two murders in Rukungiri District

The Police in Rukungiri District are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the death of two individuals identified as 19 year old Karubakanga Emmanuel and 25 year Akandwanaho Justus all residents of Nyakasharara Cell in Rubanga South Parish, Buyanja Subcounty.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime has confirmed the incident saying that the deceased Karubakanga was at in the Trading Centre , picked a quarrel with Akandwanaho Justus who later stabbed him in the chest with a knife and died instantly.

Tumushime explained that residents of the area also took law into their hands and lynched the suspected killer Akandwanaho Justus and killed him Instantly. 

Tumushime said that the Police condemned the act of taking law into their hands when there is a functioning justice system in place, and asked the general public to always have trust in the justice system established by law. 

Tumushime said that investigations are still on going and called upon who ever has information that can be of help in the investigations to forward it to the nearest Police Station in confidence since their identity shall not be revealed.
