The Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development in charge of Investment and Privatization, Hajjat Amina Mukalazi has today July 23rd met a delegation from Poland’s VIVE Textile Recycling led by Yaser Ahmed, to discuss a proposed investment in textile and plastic waste recycling in Uganda.
During the meeting, Minister Mukalazi urged the investors to prioritize local employment, technology transfer, and sourcing of raw materials from Ugandan suppliers.

She reaffirmed government’s commitment to support the project through investment facilitation and coordination with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“Investments in recycling and value addition are central to our agenda of job creation, environmental protection, and advancing Uganda’s industrial transformation,” Minister Mukalazi said.
The proposed investment aligns with government efforts to promote a circular economy and attract sustainable industrial projects.
Yaser Ahmed thanked the Minister for welcoming him and his delegation to Uganda and pledged full cooperation in the implementation of the project.
