NEWS– The Police in Ibanda District are investigating a case of attempted that occurred in Bukuuto 1 cell, Kigarama ward, Bisheshe division in Ibanda district.
According to SP Samson Kasasira, the incident happened on Thursday 29th August 2024 at around 1:00/c and almost claimed the life of Ahimbisibwe Joseph alias Kitengye, male aged 42 years, resident of Kigarama cell, Kigarama ward, Bisheshe division in Ibanda district.
It’s alleged that on the said date, the victim Ahimbisibwe Joseph alias Kitengye was in bed sleeping with Kyarisiima Annet the mother of Tindyebwa crescent (suspect). The suspect knocked the door and ordered her to open which she did. Upon entering the house, the suspect went direct to the mother’s bed room while armed with a panga and cut the victim on the left leg and scrotum making testacles to come out.
It’s further alleged that during the scuffle, the mother grabbed the suspect and the victim managed to escape to his home where he called his friend Busingye Patrick who took him to Ruhoko H/C IV for treatment.
Kasasira told the press that a case of attempted murder was reported at Ibanda CPS and investigations commenced.
According to preliminary investigations, it was identified that Ahimbisibwe Joseph alias Kitengye (victim) has been a long time concubine to Kyarisiima Annet, the mother to the suspect which annoyed the suspect.
The Regional Police spokesman added that inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
