NEWS- The best Sheema district PLE performer has finally got a sponsor for her O’ level studies at Maryhill Girls High School in Mbarara district, Western Uganda.
Fortunate Atuhaire 14 a former pupil at Kyabuharambo Primary School (government aided) in Sheema North county in Sheema district scored 4 aggregates in last year’s Primary Leaving Examinations but but came to limelight after it emerged that she never had school fees for her next education level.
Atuhaire had no hopes until when vision group reporters reached her home in Buhweju district 4 weeks ago and aired a story about her, that she was in need of assistance since she had no money to join any secondary school.
Atuhaire had lost hopes since her mother could not afford next level’s education fares, but she is now a winner since her O’ Level fees has been covered.
This website has got clear information that Letshego Uganda (a microfinance institution) has officially paid Ugx 20m through cheque for Atuhaire’s school fees for her O’ Level studies.
Atuhaire Fortunate is a resident of Kitooha II Cell, Kashenyi ward, Kashenyi – Kajani Town in Buhweju district and has been raised by a single mother due to known family issues especially vulnerability to access the service.
By Monday 19th February 2024, Atuhaire was welcomed at the school by the headteacher Sarah Tumuhimbise at Mary Hill School Mbarara who congratulated her and thanked Ugandans for loving the girl child education.
Speaking to www.informer.co.ug , the head of sales Letshego Uganda Denis Mbiika said though they have paid fees for only 4 years, they will provide continuous support towards her education since it’s the only way to success.
Meanwhile, the Buhweju Constituency Member of Parliament Hon Mwijukye Francis who led the campaign to support Atuhaire Fortunate asked her to be disciplined and know the weight of her journey since she has now started to face earthly challenges alone thus should become strong and win her race.
