KAGADI– The Police in Kagadi district have arrested two leaders of a parish Development Modal (PDM) SACCO over alleged corruption.
The suspects Theodoro Byarugaba, the chairperson of Kyesamirre B PDM Sacco in Muhorro Sub- County and Yoweri Kabagambe, the SACCO secretary were detained on the orders of the Kagadi Assistant Resident District Commissioner Francis Behangana during a crackdown on the PDM corrupt leaders in Muhorro Sub-County. The third suspect remains at large.
According to Behangana, the three leaders allegedly colluded to extort funds ranging between 2000shs to 3000shillings from each of the SACCO members, a practice he condemned as unlawful.

Behangana has issued a stern warning to all PDM Sacco leaders to refrain from embezzlement of PDM funds.
The Assistant RDC’s stance underscores the government’s commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring that public funds are used effectively.

During President Yoweri Museveni’s recent visit in Kagadi district as he finalized his PDM assessment tour in Bunyoro sub-region, tasked Ugandans to sack all corrupt PDM committee members and not to compromise with anyone messing up with the initiative.
To date, over 480 people have been arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) and charged in courts over misappropriating Parish Development Model (PDM) and other government programme funds, SHACU chief Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke has said.
