The Police in Rubanda District are investigating mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a 40 year old woman identified as Naturinda Precious a resident of Rurengere Cell in Nyaruhanga Ward in Rubanda Town council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the incident that took place yesterday after the Area Chairperson Mukasa Fred received information last night that the deceased’s house was burning.
However, the locals managed to put off the fire, thinking that she was not in the house at the time of the fire since she was a known drunkard and always away from her home.
The chairperson received another phone call that the deceased could have died from her house since they are seeing the remains of body parts in the burnt house and rushed to the scene and confirmed the woman had indeed perished in the fire and thereafter reported it to the Police.
Maate explained that the scene was visited, examined and documented and it was established that the deceased was a renown drug addict and appeared to have been mentally unstable and the body was handed over for burial.
